A brief story behind one of the original artworks: HERr-I-CANe
This painting that I entitled HERr-I-CANe [hurricane] represents female empow(H)erment: HER -I CAN.
It was inspired by a scripture I'd grown up hearing, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", which still plays on repeat in my head during tumultuous times and reminds me to keep going.
Empowerment entails being vulnerable, having clarity of the soul, unapologetic self-care, and focused resourcefulness.
The result is daily positive e-motion (energy-in-motion) of holding up your self-love mirror.
Empowerment is not a single act, nor solely only for woman and girls, but is a process created when those around you respect, support, uplift, and unconditionally hold each other accountable.
Without this, it is impossible to love others authentically. It's time to hold up your self-love mirrors; and for those who oppose? Will be moved on out of the way, a HERr-I-CANe is coming.
